Hello all,
I am in a spot, my Epson 2100 printer has broken down. The light magenta print head has *suddenly* 100% stopped working after a ink cartridge change. I tried the Windex method but it's not working. I suspect that it's not a nozzle issue, much more serious I think. Has this happened to anybody else? If so I would like to know the repair cost, if it's too expensive it's highly likely I'll just get a new printer. I bought this printer in Singapore but I'm not in town so I can't bring it down to the service centre. Thanks for the help, Wesley |

Anyway my Epson 2100 printer has served me extremely well since I purchased it 4 years ago. This printer is no longer in production, so I also don't know the cost.
Maybe I just happen to have purchased a lucky good set. I |

My printhead was out of alignment. There were clear vertical bands. So I sent it in for repair.

Yep, we thought it was a new cartridge issue coz the printhead could not print *immediately* after the change. We tried another new cartridge and it still didn't work. But I have had this printer for 4 years now and we have printed tonnes of images, maybe it was matter of time before it went kaput. What's so sad is that I just bought tonnes of ink supplies back to Paris from Singapore we've just started using it. I suppose I'll have to let them go via Ebay or something. Best regards Wesley |

Yes, it does detect the new cartridge. It's listed as full. When we do the nozzle check, there's completely zero output. Everything is acting as normal but there is no light magenta ink coming out of the print head.

Print head is dead for the magenta section... u can change the print head or buy a new printer. Companies are expected to support their products for 7 years after production, so Epson Japan will have parts. U just have to push Epson to get the print head replaced. Are there any other Epson printers that use these cartridges u bought? U can always buy the model that does then your cartridges will not go to waste.
