Dear Fellow Camera People,
I have had my D70 kit for about 2 years now and i have not used it for awhile (in NS). I noticed some form of crystallization or fungus to have formed at the lens element of my kit lens. I'd also like to check if my CCD needs to be cleaned. May i know if it's even expensive to perform such servicing from Nikon? By the way what brand of dry box can i look out for to prevent this from happening? I only have the D70 camera and it's keep lens to store. Any response or feedback greatly appreciated. Thank you! |

Cleaning of can be done.. issue is if it is worth the effort as the kit lens goes rather cheap for a 2nd hand piece. Furthermore if fungus has eaten into the coating, then there would still be marks after cleaning

It better for you to invest in a dry cabinet and put your camera stuff inside after sending your lens/Camera for servicing.
