Wacom tablet for touching up pictures

hi gurus...

have you all heard of the wacom intous series tablet? I heard from others that it's really useful in touching up on photographs and designing stuff. Have you all used this before?is it gd?

i use a fujitsu stylistic lappy, no keyboard, stylus on screen straight(wacom) and its pretty useful and much more accurate than fiddling with a lil mouse
