Will like to ask some question regarding D1 series battery. My uncle camera only can take 200 shot after each full charge. he did refresh the battery before but still the same. Orginal battery will be very expensive, while east gear battery perform is unsure.
heard that someone modify this battery with lithum battery before, so wondering can any one tell me how to modify this battery, or can any one give advise on this battery. Thank you. |

If your uncle is fine with ebay, there are some ebay sellers with OEM EN3 battery packs at a pretty reasonable rate. Just need to be sure to count the cost of shipping. Alternatively Heard that BatteryBarn is quite good as well.

Alternatively... send the battery to the battery shop in SimLim Tower basement. Then can replace the cells for you and the currently cells are of a higher capacity which would really can hold charge much longer.

Btw, Yesterday i did my very own modification. 2 wire was solder to the connecting pin of the battery and branch out from the battery. I connected 6x2300mah to the wire. AND I FAILED!!!

Can u share a bit on opening the casing of the EN3. I have one which needs to replace the battery as well. sykestang suggestion is good - have to source for one with good pricing, the shop at the basement of Sim Lim uses machine soldering (therefore may cost a bit more). |

The original EN-4 battery is quite simple, electrically. It's just 6 cells wired in series. |

Anyway, the OEM one that he bought is probably just a replacement pack, meaning with casing and everything, no need to DIY anything, but it's still NiMH, not Li-ion.

It was the OEM EN4 that is complete, no need to bring down your old EN4.
In fact, I've converted 2x old EN4 to use Li-Ion (2 cells, 17650 bought from unicell) and mod a Nikon MH-53 (number might be wrong, but it is the charger for ENEL1) to charge it. Will put up photos at a later time .... Some description : http://www.nikonuser.org/forum/showt...p?t=798&page=2 |

You have to bring along your old battery and they'll actually replace the cells inside for you. Takes 1-2days. ![]()

![]() Unicell is recommended as I've bought many kind of batteries from them before, from UPS to my potable powerpack strobe replacement cells, and so far none failed. Unicell is their own brand and have established in SG for the past over 10yrs already. ![]()
