Thinking of buying the F1.4 50mm lens.
Love portraiture shots. Can anyone advice on whether is this a good lens to buy? How is the optical performance? |

50/1.8 will be more than sufficient

I just upgraded from the 50mm f1.8 to the f1.4. No regrets. The isolation of subject is quite a bit better than the f1.8.
No regrets for me. |

Use to own one. Loved the sharpness but upon getting my Tamron 17-50, I started to use it much less ... sold it in the end.

The 50mm f/1.4 is a lovely lens to use for portrait.

get a cheap 50f1.8... use it for awhile and see if the focal length is what you use often.. if yes, go for f1.4
