Hi!
Wondering if anyone has used Mju 720/725 to take underwater photo? Can you share the settings that you've used? Or your experiences for this camera? Took it out for a diving trip for the 1st time. Tried the underwater mode but it doesn't turn out well. I think my old camera (Mju 410) was better using the auto mode. Tried 'cloudy' mode + increasing ISO to 200/400. Don't work either. Tried underwater mode + Marco + Forced Flash - Slightly Better (But that was my last dive and I couldn't try other settings) Thanks in advance ![]() |

For u/w shoot, I normally don't rely on the pre-set WB setting. I bring a white board with me to reset the WB setting whenever I change depth.

i used to shoot with a mju600, not sure if the 725 differs much.
Oly usu has 3 uw settings - macro (nemo), WA1 (barracudas) and WA2 (dolphin). Depending on what kind of subjects u're taking - small stuff u wld choose macro, anything else i usu just tikam WA1 or WA2. The WB will be auto-adjusted cos dun think all compacts come with custom WB. Anywayz, shld try use either cloudy or UW for WB ba? Some samples taken with the mju600...mostly in macro UW mode (nemo) http://aquaharmonix.multiply.com/photos/album/3 |

Hi camerashy,
My camera do not have full manual settings. I can only adjust a little. Don't think I can do the white-balance thingee. ![]() Hi jelimon, Your pix looks nice! Yup. I've the same UW mode as you. The more decent photos are taken with the 'Nemo mode' too. The other 2 modes don't work out well for me. Did you use flash when u take the 'barracuda/dolphin' mode? Think I'll try more of the Nemo Mode in my next dive. One thing I've noticed is that the default setting for this mode is "Sunny day"? Did you change the WB? I've tried the cloudy WB before trying out the UW Nemo mode. it was quite bad. everything looks blur and feels like the water is moving.. Maybe I set my ISO too high? (200-400) Also, did you 'photoshop-ed" your photos eh? Thanks both! ![]() |

Can't remember if I did change the WB, was a newbie and that was my 2nd attempt into UW photography so just let the camera do everything for me! Blur can be becos of many reasons ba? ISO shldn't affect the bluriness, but u prolly get more noise with higher ISO. Sometimes focusing is a problem and these guys here have suggested avoiding the use of the AiAF. Completely avoided dolphins and barracudas - wasn't so much into wide angle at that time and my skills and the camera lens didn't allow me to venture into that. Did photoshop the pics using very basic knowledge that I had at that time - which is auto levels, auto colour or colour balance. Prolly cropped some pics here n there also. |

Yo. Pai say. What's AiAF?
And you have some photos of the shark/manta/dive guide - u also did that in Marco (nemo) mode? Pardon me for asking so much questions eh. Cos I think there's not much mju series users here. :P Thanks!! |
