Personally prefer Tamron. There's also a Tamron 18-200 going for less than 700. I also read pretty good reviews of the newer Tamron 18-250.

Currently, Tamron does not offer stabilisation technology. Their first OS equivalent technology will only be implemented in the upcoming 28-300 f/3.5-6.3 and 70-200 f/2.8 lenses.
In reality, Tamron lenses have as many problems as Sigma in terms of decentering and AF issues. But Sigma has a service center in Singapore, but Tamron does not. In terms of AF performance in 3rd party lenses, I think Tokina is the best. |

They have a service center here. It just that they have to bring the lens to japan or other country for servicing

If they have a service centre in Singapore, why send overseas for servicing? They do not have a service centre in Singapore. Tithes Marketing is the distributor. They will send it back to Japan for servicing.

Just tested this lens @ AP today. Feels decent, but AF is loud and not very fast. Seriously, f/6.3 @ 200mm simply CMI, even with OS. =S Btw the OS works rather well hehe

Perhaps canon might have something similar to AFS 18-200VR in planning?
