Default Bagman Snapshot Trekka Review

I managed to try out the Australian Bagman/Caseman, aka alternative to Crumpler. I decided to do a review of the Bagman Snapshot Trekka, for the benefit of friends who are made queries about Bagman.
I hope this review is useful to those who are on a budget.

BAGMAN SNAPSHOT TREKKA
REVIEW

READ ABOUT THE IN-DEPTH REVIEW HERE.
More pictures of the Snapshot Trekka is available.

Conclusion:
Hate to say, but the Snapshot Trekka is like a clone to Crumpler's Whickey and Cox, but the orientation of compartments and exterior design are different.
PROs: Value for the money. Secure.
CONs: Doubtfully useful flimsy dividers. Lack of general compartment.

Any owners with the Bagman Snapshot Trekka care to show how well the dividers can hold/suspend the camera body+lens?

Thanks.

although i am not a user for either bag.. i would think it would be really useful if you had included the weight of the bag when it is empty. i think bag buyers would be particular over the weight of the bag since they might be loading quite abit of equipment into such a large bag.

i do remember that Crumpler's whiskey and cox being quite a deadweight by itself (on top of its high price)

just my 2 cents. and yes, the review is v.precise, well done, thanks for sharing.

UP at $77.50? Whoa, that's a very, very good price. RRP is at $88 or $99 (can't really remember).

Is this the BST? looks good to me I have got to applause to the TS. A very good review. Thanks for the effort. I have been looking at the W&C for awhile but because it is so huge, I hesitated, prefering its smaller brother keystone... but again keystone can't house my 15 inch notebook
Maybe because of my small frame.. I am no 176m like you.. W&C makes me look like a turtle This BST might be an alternative

That is only the bag, no camera inserts.

Doesn't come with insert? How can a camera bag does not come with insert? Weird. Marketing techniques? I'll rather get from my usual shop then, cheaper than Popular.

thanks for the pic, it is the camera 'pouch' of the BST eh?
but pardon me, is the camera secure in its position?
it looks like it is 'suspended', or is it supported by the camera body on the two lens?
to make things simple, remove all the lens and left only the body with lens, can it (camera) stay in the same position?

thansk miniUltraman, as i mentioned above, the picture posted by longko is the 'removeable camera pouch/compartment' of the BST. Its really neat, you can stuff the whole 'pouch/compartment' into others bags as well!
You are right, the BST's camera storage layout mimicks that of W&C closely.
trust me, it sure looks decently nice (of course not the pinkish, which happens to be my favourite color....*sings to Aerosmith's PINK*)
try it out, only then you will know how it'll look on you.
after all, i dun mind look like turtle, as long as I know that my gear and myself are in comfort zone.

I think its better to head on down to Popular to check it out. The thing is there is no way the bag comes without the inserts. Unless they intentionally remove the inserts and sell them separately. then it will really reflect on Popular's image.

just checked out AMK's branch at Jubilee.
I believe all branches should have it, it should be in the IT hardware/apparels sections (where you find laptop sleeves, mouse, cables etc).
it is indeed BST, Retail: S$77.50 before 20% discount for members.
I asked to view the bag,
having removed the bag from the wrapper,
i immediately noticed that the bag was not as 'puffed' up as it is supposed to be.
I unzipped the bag, only to discover that the camera compartment (see below) has been removed.

apparantly, the sales person at popular identify this bag as a laptop-cum-general purpose bag, and not as a camera bag.
this proves a point: This Bagman Snapshot Trekka is versatile and customizeable to occasion. ie. Bagman Snapshot Trekka --> Bagman Trekka

this bag is a wonderful bag. if u take out the compartment, its just a normal laptop bag

bag comes in 2 sizes. big and small. big costs $88 and small is $78. difference ? one fits a 15" laptop nicely the other up to 13"

its a nice bag that draws attention.. not your usual wah .. crumpler. now its Wah! what bag is this!

mine is in green colour. took 1/2 to decide getting big or small .

dunno how many times ive said it, managed to put in a lot of stuff inside..

1)35-80
2) 18-55
3) 100-300
4)sb-24
5)50mm prime
6) d50 + 28-70
7) fuji s5500
8)kodak c553 compact

also , lens cleaner ,memory cards, batteries and handphone in the front compartment. bag still has pockets for external HDD

Correct me if I am wrong... So the bag which they sell at Popular is the Bagman Trekka which retails for S$77.50 (before 20% discount for members). And this bag does NOT have the detachable camera compartment?
