"Err" blinking on Nikon D70

Before I send the cam to SNC for a checkup, does anyone know the cause of it?

If you are using a lens with aperture ring, have you forgotten to set the aperture to the largest F-stop number?

I did set it to the largest f/stop and lock it.
It also happened when I used a DX lens.

If problem with aperture ring, it should show -FAA (or -FEE??), and not -ERR.

Probably replaced it..

Try turning it off, taking out the battery, mounting another lens, putting the battery back in again - worked for me.

The last time I had "Err" on my D70, and I'm glag I left it on the shelf for my D200, was a burnt CCD that costs me $240 and 10 days at SNC... I think.

I took it out to sentosa to shoot beach volleyball and it burnt up my CCD. SNC will import from Thailand the CCD and then fix it here. Expensive lesson learnt. Before I sent it in, Itried all those stuff you guys mentioned but nothing seems to work. Well, SNC will diagnose your D70's problem. Just pray hard it isn't the CCD.

what do you mean by burn up your CCD? how to avoid that?

Shutter Motor problem.

They'll replace the motor for you.
