Default M57 Ring Nebula

Hi,
Took this image on 09 Jun 2007 early morning in Tampines. The weather was very humid, but clear enough to took this image.

This is the famous Planetary Nebula M57, the Ring Nebula, in the constellation Lyra and is around 2,300 light years away. This is what happened to star with a mass similar to our sun nears the end of its life... it blows off it's outer layer. The Nebula is actually cylinder shaped, but give an illusion that it's like a ring surrounding the dying stars (in the centre of the Nebula image... barely visible due to the Nebula surround it), because our location in space gives us a view looking down the cylinder making it look like a ring.
