Which shop to buy a Nikon dslr?

Hi all, I am new into dslr and already made up my mind to get a Nikon D40. Can you experienced users recommend a reliable shop that I should get from?

p.s forgot alan photo gave me good customer service they changed my portrait lens to a macro lens cause it is their mistake and gave me a cameara cleaning kit to tell me how sorry were they

Lord's and CP are very reliable shops and I am sure the others mentioned earlier here are as well.

Thank you very much for the input, guys. It seems that there is a handful of reliable shops around. It is definately impossible to hop from one to another.
Gonna try my luck tomorrow then. Still thinking of which one to go..I am really scared of being chopped or conned for my first dslr.

Only suggestion for you is to do some research before you go buy. For pricing:

Do a search in the Nikon forum and you will be able to find tonnes of info on the D40/D40x.

go TK or John or Lords ...TK usually gives good quotes upfront...no need to bargain one..

I have bought things from the following:
1. AP (Sim Lim)
2. John 3:16
3. CP (Peninsula)
4. TCW

So far all are ok, but I do find they have varying level of service in AP and CP. Some staff sucks, some staff friendly. Price varies when quoted by different staff within the same day. Better that you try to ask them a few times, maybe different staff and buy with the person that gives you the best price. :P

Among them, TCW gives me the impression that they offer competitive price and are friendly.

By the way, take note that D40/40x will only autofocus with AF-S and AF-I lenses.

my equipment comes from CP, and John 3:16 and recently Lords..

MS Color i visited them a few times already. service not so bad after all..
