Until today, the Taxi situation is also not solved.

Welcome to Singapore, looks like we're still a pirate colony in terms of public transport.

    Brudders & Sistas...

Like I have always believed - 1st World Public Transport (refer to the System in place), but operating with 3rd WORLD Equipment

They are not wrong to say our Transport System is 1st World (is has been for quire sometime now). They never promised with 1st World Equipment (needless to say - Buses...)
The DIFFERENCE is not in the "Cue", it is in the SKILLS...

I think all the "1st class" ministers/high ranking officers should be advised take public transport to work during peak hour, or try to flag down a taxi in town area around 9pm-12am for at least once a week, then they should appreaciate on how "1st class" transport system is Singapore.

We should ban our minister from driving their own cars, and use the public transport for 1 week. Let them experience 1st hand their so called world class public transport system. Maybe that will open up their eyes away from those sugar-coated reports they are reading.

I agree bro. Getting a taxi between 9pm to 12am is near impossible.

The HK double-decker buses are new models and very well maintained.
Even the 2nd/3rd tier cities in China, the buses have those "ticker" LED panels on the roof that announce which is the next stop, something I've always wondered why it took us so long to have (SMRT buses have this now, not sure about SBS). I think they wasted too much money on that satellite tracking thingie.
i think they need improve the Mobile TV.. sometimes the images just freeze. It is very bad if someone is doing a penalty shootout in a match.

Now got different tracking system already. Have been using them regularly on my handphone. Seems pretty reliable but at time can be slow but still better than nothing.
You can at least tell how long the bus will arrive (minus 1-2 mins from the display and you get a pretty accurate time). Interface still neeeds some polishing up especially I don't know why enquiries only on single bus and not more than one at a time.

In my city in England, their policy is 'everyone should have a seat' on the bus. In Singapore, our policy is 'everyone should squeeze'. I think that is not very right. Yes, moving to the back is a graceful virtue, but they don't know that assigning more buses is a better deal than asking people to squeeze. How much can you squeeze? That's the point. Moreover, if a bus is too packed, it can be dangerous in case of an accident.

Actually it's meant to be for commuters in wheelchairs.

Nope its not. The offiicial reason given was so as to reduce congestion at the exit doors - you notice the removed seats area is always near the doors.
