400D CF reading speed

Hiya

Just wondering, does sanyone have the problem that reading the CF card on a 400D is actually pretty slow. I've used a 20D and the reading speed is so much faster.

Is it really dependent on the CF card brand? Or is it just that the 400d is really slow in this respect?

Are you shooting RAW? Are you shooting continuous bursts? What card are you using?

xunjas - thanks. yeh i guess that clarifies things. reading jpg images takes about 1 second. yeesh!

nope, just jpg, and medium size at that. was pretty surprised how slow it was, but like the dpreview goes, it's not just my camera that does that. maybe i should shoot in raw since it seems to be faster!! (except i dont think i have enough disk space for 10mb images!)

ah well. the price you pay for i guess!

Viewing RAW is equivalent to viewing JPEG/small on 400D I think.

i dont think its 1 second leh...like very slow....maybe 5 secs. i using sandisk ultra II 2GB CF Card

Haha, using a 400D too, and I also feel that reviewing photos on the lcd screen can be quite sluggish sometimes...but i still love my 400D

5 seconds?!? Even the 300D isn't that slow.

yeh dude, 5 seconds is crazy!!

but anyway, sometimes i just try not to show people my photos on the 400D cos it's seriously slow. and people just get impatient!!
