Extended warranty for 2nd n 3rd year for $70. Is it worth?

Dear all CSers here,

I would like to seek your opinion if it is worth getting 2nd n 3rd extended year warranty from fuji at the price of $70. I just got my new s6500fd n wondering if i should get the extended warranty.

All your opinions and comments are much appreciated.

I think it really worth it. last time my friend's Z2 fall onto ground and the lens spoilt. It cost about $200 to replace a new set of lens, luckily it was under warranty and she no need to pay for it. She decided to purchase 2nd and 3rd year warranty after that.

I just got my Fuji F31fd. I think i will get the extended warranty soon once i free.

If not mistaken, damage due to own negligence will not be covered by the warranty...

They did not questioned much on how the camera is malfunction, what a great service, haha. The camera was returned in less than a week.

It is for insurance sake and worth the money.

Bought my E550 in Dec 2005 and extended it to 3 years for $90.00

Warranty will only cover manufacturing defects. Your friend's case should be that the Fuji people gave him/her out of extreme goodwill.
And the ext warranty can only be purchased within 14 days of camera purchase. Your friend must have gave wrong info.

Thread starter, most cameras will not get spoiled easily if you store/maintain/use it properly. If it has manufacturing faults, it would already shown within the first year.

i think it is worth, i just get my Sony T3 to repair...never expect the sensor colour is fading. Now I have a new sensor...(probably it is defective, but Sony replace it for FOC, as I have an extended warranty)

For a total 3years warranty, of cos is worth it when your camera is in the 2nd/3rd year usuage and any manufacturing fault is not economical to repair as new models is out.
Just $35 per year, as compare any repairing/checking each time will cost around $20 minimum. So do your maths and consider.
