Why I love digital: indiscriminate continuous shooting.
Generally 1 or 2 shots when they're walking up. Ideally you'd be able to get some shots when they're posing but the light becomes an issue. I find camera shake is the real problem. In the sweet spot on the stage you can get a faster shutter speed, up to 1/160 at f/2.8 so you can still use 200mm and get relatively sharp pics. At the front of the stage I found the exposure was 1/45s, f/2.8 at iso 800. Still ended up with camera shake when using 80mm. A monopod helps but still no guarantees. Need a tripod or IS / VR. |

Personally, I find 24-70 more viable option to shoot them as they walk down the catwalk. 70-200 is for the more static shots. |
