Sounds like a "burn-out" situation to me.

Firstly, my advice is " Don't you ever give up!"

What course to take depends on whether you started this just to make money, or because of a deep passion for things pertaining to arts and photography. If its the latter, then go take a break, go for a holiday and bring the cam to shoot for fun, without ever thinking about making money, and get back the "first love" again. If its the formal , I think you better go get some more talents and gifts to make more money then

Follow your passion, then the money will come.

It might sound scary, but what happens if you wake up some morning and feel that photography is really not your way of life, not the goal you've been pursing for a long time?

You've already put 1/2 of your leg into this field, sunk in good money on equipment, shooting alot to gain experience / portfolio / contacts etc. but somehow or rather, you suddenly feel that whatever you've been doing are good time wasters, and would get you no where..

    so what would you do?
    start selling your gear.

It sounds normal and typical of one whom is a little grown.... when you start to look back in life (more so if photography is your job), the unsure feels creeps in. If it helps... try recall why you wanted to buy a camera, upgrade the lens, captures that few "all-time-proud" image....

if you have already started selling your gear, I am sure will soon think of replacing them soon.. haaaa.

another clubsnapper mentioned exactly the same thing as u. i cant really remember the clubsnapper name.

wat u can do now is to take a break... sometimes when someone is doing something intensively for a long period, the body will be mentally tired and all negative things will crawl into ur mind.
Yes. Someone mentioned that. That's me. I believe I'm not the first with such a thought but I guess I'm probably one of the many who voiced out this thought.

A lot of things had happened and somehow inspiration to shoot simply dried up. When I wanted to shoot, somehow arrangements dun go my way due to certain reasons and I ended up not shooting at all.

I'm currently taking a break from shooting, although I do bring my gear out from time to time, feel it, touch it and think about things in life.

They say that Photography is a reflection of one's perception, the window to one's thought and an extension of your thought to others which words can't express, the picture conveys.

We all get a little sick from the daily routines in life. Why not take this opportunity for a break? U dun have to be shooting all the time to know photography per se, thoughts can convey to what your next composition would be.

    happens to everyone.

well, at least you tried it out. worse still to keep on wondering "what if".. try to take a break and focus your efforts on deciding what to do next.

thanks for all the kind encouragements you guys gave, it's amazing how online forums could forge such encouragements over the air.. =)

i guess, it's always better to step back and have a wider perspective of things.. =)
