Default Canon Selphy 730 Color Management

Hi everyone,

I'm having some problems with my selphy, which tends to give a hideous green cast to my printed photos, not to mention underexposing the photo by about 1.5 stop.

Is this due to the color management in windows? Do I need special profiling to get the right colors? Is a hardware calibrator necessary?

Thanks in advance

In the printer properties of selphy, you have to tweak the balance. My brightness is boosted by 2 levels. Red increase by 1.

I have the same problem too. But i did what ianpaice mentioned, and it's better. But I decreased green by -1 instead of adjusting the red. Because when i up the red, the hideous green is still there ah!

send your printer to canon service centre to calibrate it. they will fix the problem.

I just brought my selphy 730 to CSC for calibration today; I was told by the Canon technician that the selphy 730 cannot be calibrated - something to do with additional feature called mycolour. Their recommendation is that I adjust the photo on a computer before sending for print. The selphy 720, however, can be re-calibrated (according to the CSC technician).

I bought the 730 because I wanted the convenience of being able to print direct from the memory card - now it seems that I need to hook it to a computer in order to get decent prints!!

Anyone with similar problems & have come across a fix (without connecting the printer to a PC or readjusting the pic)?

thanks.

I am using the CP720. I once attended the so called training conducted by canon. I talk to the person to ask if there is any colour management. He told me that there isnt. The selphy series are mean for family and friends who want quick picture and less demanding on colour details. The way i got around to it is to overexpose my shots by around 0.5 to 1 stop so that straight from card print will have enough brightness. And i set to high saturation and contrast. Hope that helps.

I do agree, but if the colour casts and underexposures are obvious, I don't think it is a matter of less demanding or not. I mean, people would still want to have prints that look "normal" right? Overexposing shots isn't the way to do. Lucky my CP720 can be calibrated. Hehe.
