Dear all,
I'm looking at the possibility of getting a room with Harbour view at Swissotel (Stamford) for NDP07. Primary interest is for the fireworks. Price of a room on NDP itself should be >$500. I'm considering the following plan: 1) Total of 5 tripods (ie 5 photographers) 2) Each photog can bring a friend to view the parade (without blocking the view of the photographer) 3) Start time ~6pm+ from start of parade, fly pass, etc to ~8pm, Fireworks, end of parade. I'm thinking of taking up 2 slots for item 1. Hence I'm open to 3 other photographers to join us. Rates wise, I'm thinking $100 per photograher (+ a friend). Any comments/suggestions are most welcomed. |

So after the parade, are the others entitled to stay in the room or have to leave.

just a personal opinion... would it be nicer to get into Clarke quay that side the buildings? like NTUC building or etc... coz with WA, can get the Fireworks, the "stadium" and the skyline all into the pic... of course swissotel will offer a slightly different view pt with esplanade in the foreground... but just my 2cents worth... hope din OT the thread...

Most prefer to save the money by queuing up their tripods along the bridge.

Hi,
My suggestion is the photog who book the room and bears the bulk of the cost will get to stay the night. The other photogs can hang around after the fireworks to do some shots of the night scene after which they have to leave. As for queueing up tripods along the bridge, I've done it many times. I have not been onto Swissotel to shoot yet. Hence it remains one of the locations that one needs to pay to get into and doesn't come by waiting several hours on the bridge etc. |

i am interested... but i think some "concrete" numbers would be more transparent and helpful... coz if its $550 for the room and each photog paying $100 for him/herself + a fren seems steep... but if it's $600 or above for the room that evening... then $100 would seem ok...

after GST. it'll be >$600 for the room. As the rates are not published yet, I only have the rates that the one of the marketing personnel emailed me.
I'll email those who're keen the exact rates that I'm offered. Please email me at perqjon@gmail.com. |
