    Hi all,

    there will be photography talks by Kris Leboutillier and John Heng
    about photography around the world and singapore,these talks are the first part of the CIRCA photo outreach programme which will culminate in september with the Singapore Art Show 2007

    it will be held at NTU's School Of Art Design And Media building's Main Auditorium,
    on the 11th and 12th june 2007 from 1pm-5pm.

    its open to anyone who is interested,
    its free and our auditorium holds up to 440 people.

    Chris Yap is a noted fine-art, editorial and commercial photographer. He has taught photography at several educational and corporate institutions around Asia Pacific. His commercial works are showcased in genres of fine-art photography, renowned theatrical performances and fashion magazines. He was also on the international judging panels for photography contests in Japan and Singapore. He is currently part-time lecturing at Nanyang Technological University, in the Art, Design and Media Faculty.

    Charles Pertwee has more than 32 years experience as a newspaper and magazine photographer, with his personal favorite shooting personal works. Currently based in Singapore and is the Photo Editor for Reuters.

    John Cosgrove has more than 32 years experience as a newspaper and magazine photographer, photo editor and digital photography trainer, He has experienced many amazing photo adventures. The founding editor of the multi-award wining PHOTOVIDEOi photography magazine based right here in Singapore, John is well known throughout SEA as a digital photographer, evangelist and photography teacher, passionate about helping others learn new skills as digital photographers.

    John Heng is the newly minted winner of The New Paper Young Photographer of the Year 2007. He's been in love with photography since the age of 18 because he thought it was “cool”. But since then, he's been staying "cool" above all pressures of a working photographer with Business Times, and his numerous commercial projects. He is also a certified Sailing instructor, both here and in the USA. His love for both the freedom and speed of the open sea also comes through in his images.

    Deanna Ng has, in the last 6 years of her life as photographer, completely immerse herself into her love for visual story-telling. To her, it is more than just pretty pictures, but a powerful voice to tell a story and to look into people's lives. Her work includes shooting for Tiger Airways, Australian High Commission, Urban Junkie, McKinsey & Company, South West CDC, and teaching in different Singaporean public and private schools, Still photographer for Cages, a Hollywood-Singapore Movie, etc.

    Kris LeBoutillier is an American Photographer and writer. He has been published in magazines and newspapers throughout Asia and the United States. His list of clients includes: National Geographic Traveler, Men's Journal, Asian Geographic magazine, Singapore Airlines, etc. He has also published his works. His first book “A journey Through Phnom Penh” was released in Dec 2003. In 2002, he received honors from Leica Camera during the Photokina photographic show in Germany.

    You can also take 179 from Boon Lay Bus interchange, and alight at the 3rd bus-stop, where Canteen 2 is. Follow the circa2007 signs up to the School of Art, Design and Media.
