Thot I'd share my experiences with the A640 as well. Similar setup as antacid - A640 + Ikelite housing + D2000S. Accessories: Inon WCL-100 WA, UCL-167M macro. Second time using the A640 uw + strobe, 1st time with this set up.
Same problems encountered - vignetting and black corners with the WA lens. Macro lens was slightly better. Strangely, the colour wasn't as rich as with the pictures topside even after post-processing. Either my WB was off (used a mixture of custom WB and the preset UW WB) or it's something else. Lots of artefacts after a little bit of pp - jpeg maybe? Camera relatively to handle but Ikelite's tad too negatively buoyant for me, thumb was sore after a few dives. Somehow the zoom lever wasn't working too well so I just skipped that. #1 Turtle sunburst ![]() #2 Sunburst over the drop off ![]() #3 Here's looking you kid! ![]() #4 In the tornado ![]() |
