Thread: Heat

    Default Heat

Are all your external harddrive casings very hot? Just bought a new harddrive and a new casing for it today. This is a DIY external storage. I think that the heat is sufficient to cook an egg.

How about yours? Should have spent a bit more to get casings with a fan in them. How about those who own Maxtor, Ovation, Seagate, etc branded external HDD storage? Is the heat generation any better or worse?
