Thread: Samsung Notebook

    Default Samsung Notebook

I am thinking of buying a 12 '' or 13'' notebook at the upcoming IT fair. I saw a 12'' Samsung notebook during the previous fair and the specs looked impressive ie. long battery life, lightweight, bright screen etc.

Anyone have any experience, good or bad, with Samsung notebooks? Reliability is very important to me. If not Samsung then what other brand? My budget is around $2500. Thanks!

personally, i would avoid samsung... their notebook built is quite flimsy...

would rather get a ibm. I regretted terribly not getting an ibm last time. but now that ibm notebook division is taken over by lenovo, i dunno if its still good?

and for those who recommend fujitsu, i would also ignore it. As a user of more than 3 yrs and with >20 friends using it, all i can say is that it is not worth the money . DESpite all the fantastic reviews abt their notebooks, u can take the risk and try it out :P see if u can avoid going to their service center after the first yr. :P

    Thanks all.

How about Asus? The specs look good and prices reasonable but its a bit gimicky eg. leather bound notebook etc.

Reliability, battery life and good display. Price is of course impt. $2500 is all I can bear.

Had a bad experience with Compaq (which I am using now). Gave me problems within a few months and when I sent it in for servicing and got it back, half my RAM was gone! Lucky I checked. This was when I was in Malaysia.

Read some forums that there is some Apple ultra portable...but it's just rumours. Hope it'll be true.
