I dont usually take travel photos when I am on overseas bridal assignment. However, I have made an exception here. I managed to find some time to capture these. Cheers

Wow, something quite different from what I usually see
but still, your photographs are very nice, especially with the vibrant colours!I really like the vanishing point in the last picture! So nice ![]() My father was in Venice a few days ago, now I want to go! |

i like this one the most. it is the moment, and professionals only know it too well to capture these moments. beautiful leg, i must say.
![]() i also like #1, but find the white rims at the tips of the boat too bright against a cool dawn/dusk. but somehow compared to your wedding photographs (which i have always regarded one of the top that i aspired to be able to shoot like you although i'm not a wedding photographer), i thought this series might be not so carefully taken. some of the horizons are off (and does not seem deliberate), for example the boatman on the bottom of the tall buildings. and also some exposures are blown (like the girls eating their food, very good colors, can explore some blown rim exposure, but a bit too strong in your example) and further contrasted with an added vignette, for example the following, ![]() as for the rest, the colors.... wow.... if only venice isn't so touristy and expensive to travel to, it will be perfect. anyway hope you dun mind some comments from a less qualified person. p.s. do you mean brilliant as in brilliantly taken or brilliant as in bright? they are both brilliantly taken and very bright though. by the way, you & joho's wedding shots have been my favorite for a long while. Last edited by zoossh; 28th May 2007 at 07:48 PM. |

Classic stuff
You've captured everyday scenes of Venice and made them special. Such saturated colors and come to think of it - there's no photo of St Marks Square (except the St Mark's Campanile in the distance in one of the photos), yet this set looks complete :-) Liked the photo of Milano Centrale Station (I have one of that place teeming with crowds). Overall, a very nice series. Thanks for sharing. I hope to go back to Venice one day.

I agree with Zoosh. I came into this thread immediately seeing Iamasaint name but was slightly dissappointed.
Your wedding photos are really "different" and exceptional. The travel photos esp those of inanimate objects are rather bland. did you post your wedding works in Venice? Those should be stunning ![]() PS: My wife's sister told me my wedding photographer (one of the compass photographers) recommended YOU to her as one of the better wedding photographers in singapore. anyway wedding shots is his forte and should be his best. if his travel pictures surpassed the wedding shots, then maybe there is a consideration for greener pastures..... oops, maybe not, could travel photography yield a better income? ![]() Last edited by zoossh; 29th May 2007 at 05:41 PM. |

somehow i suspect wedding photographers are a bit more liberal with high-key portraits and dynamic tilts (e.g. for low angle shots of couples dancing) and tend to bring over to travel..... could it be that? |
