Default Sunset (today)

Towards sunset. Too bad cannot get the egg yolk sun.


Saw something interesting


Zoomed in for a closer shoot, it's a partial rainbow.

its a little too early for the best sunset shots. actually the best colours are about 30mins AFTER the sun have gone below the horizon. And you can know the precise sunrise/set times and direction from this site.

3rd picture shows some evidence of sensor dust, otherwise nice photos.

Aparently the sun already "dissappeared" behind the "smog" right at the horizontal center of the pic.

errr .. u dun use USM for clouds ... makes it worst. USM are for well defined objects with distinct edges or textures. i dun mind soft clouds, for clouds ARE soft.

What camera were you using?

1/8000 confirm no camera shake la, maybe haze.

What has that got to do wif cam?

As mentioned before, I've cropped the photos and mabbe a little resizing by PS. most probable cause of softness.

what was your f number and where was your focus? It could just be out of focus.

f16 - f22

focus on the buildings for #1 and #2, the rainbow for #3.

the softness could also be due the lens operating beyond its diffraction limits which occurs at high f number.
