Lmao, the E2C is in a completely different league. It's about 70 bucks used from the US, while I sold my UM2s for 320 used. The UM2s are fantastic in terms of build IMO, they're the design used by musicians on stage so you can really see them (transparent + flushed to the ears, unlike Shures and UEs) and the cable is the toughest of all the big IEM brands.

IF u think the UM2 is like a cheapo road side 2 dollar earphone, take a look at the ER4.

Anyway, both are very tough and rugged. My UM2 took a lot of beating and its fine. Used it in the rain as well.

You should find all the info you need here.

As for me, I am not a headphones guy. I bought the only one that did not feel like headphones : Stax Sigma.

Big, ugly but front firing like speakers. They give you a sense of space. They are not side firing directly in your ears and are more gentle on your tympan.

But damn, you feel funny looking in the mirror.

Even if I do not agree with you, I will always fight for you to have your say.

Where did you guys get your Koss PortaPros and for how much? My Px100s are kinda falling apart after 2 and a half years even though they're sounding better than ever. but I tot I might give the Portapros a try as the 2 are often mentioned in the same breathe

i recommend Sennheiser CX300, bought it over the net from a local guy. OEM piece $55, very cheap and super sound quality.

If the picture seems like a joke, this is serious.

    See the link

Stax Sigma were the top of the range, Stax Electrostatic, "Semi-Panoramic Ear Speakers" made in Japan.

I am using the pro version which is very rare and sought after. Like these:

you can see the electrostatic panel in the front of the box.

Kinglsey at the Adelphi is selling the brand.

The definition of Stax product and company here

Well I guess anything also can, just as long as you achieve your sound nirvana.

Grado is a good and reputable brand. But it is still best that you audition them to see if they are suitable for you. For a basshead like me, Grado is not my choice.
