Chio leh! So surreal!

And this was through the airplane window? You should have broken the window so that you can get even more breathtaking shots! =)

I tend to find that the stewardesses get stressed when you do that!

Naw, they'd be too busy flying out of the window.

You can even get shots of flying air stewardesses over Mt Fuji while you're at it as a bonus!

thanks ndroo, SilverSurfer66, Cheesecake, roadrunner_552, night86mare, eastwest, CYRN and qwertbabe

night86mare: i think it'll get rather messy if the plane window is broken, and the guy beside me probably had enough of a shock when i took my backpack down 15min before flight lands to take my lens

qwertbabe: take the window seat on the left side of the plane ... also i think a digicam with sufficient zoom should be much more convenient, these are taken at 180mm (with crop factor approx. 270mm)

a 10x to 15x, 35mm optical zoom lens should be able to capture a view of mt fuji when the plane departs from tokyo.

actually i think it's easier to photograph when the plane goes into tokyo, some planes fly out of tokyo in south east direction, might just miss out or go too far away from mt. fuji

do you have to use a polariser to deal with the reflections?

and i believe their windows must be very clean. becos these windows are at least double layered with distance in between, some dirt can appear more prominent, esp those at the further distance. those budget airlines didn't really take care of that and getting quality pictures through the windows isn't really that possible.

i also believe that is partially the reason of the softness of the pictures through the multi-layered windows that adds to the picture, am i right to say that?

zoossh: the window glass wasn't very clean, and coupled with the cloud mist and glare from the sun, it was actually impossible to use autofocus, had to switch to manual. the original pictures are rather flat actually, i had to ''pull'' the histogram to get the colours
