hi guys.
Anyone using this software? i ave just started to use this software. Used to Windows Movie Maker all these while and very comfortable with it. Able to do basics etc. Any tips & hints for starters for the Vegas 7.0e? Like, should i open the movie file or use import? i am able to open the movie file using open. What other common things do you do in Vegas? Shifting, Cutting Parts out, Cropping vids and more? thanks Last edited by knpan; 14th June 2007 at 03:29 PM. |

Vegas can do all the common editing tasks you mention (don't know what "shifting" is though) and also others like colour correction, chroma keying, transitions etc. It can also generate text and graphics to overlay on the video. At a more advanced level, you can also use it to cut out backgrounds and then composite layers of video, although there are probably easier tools for this task. Vegas is also brilliant at handling audio, and is great for mixing tracks as well as balancing sound dialogue and effects. |

You can apply a video effect in more than one way, and while this is powerful, it is also very confusing if you get it mixed up. For example, you can apply a colour corrector FX: As a Media FX - i.e. to the clip in the Media Pool. Every time you use this clip on the timeline, the effect will be applied already. As a Video Event FX - i.e. only to one instance of the clip on the timeline. As a Track FX- i.e. to all clips on this track. As a Video Bus FX - i.e. to the final output of the project, after combining all the tracks. The first 2 are especially confusing because if you right-click on a clip on the timeline, you get the option to apply Media FX or Video Event FX. Be careful! |

i cant seem to sign up with the serial number, they said it is not valid.
i think i wil lask my questions here. why is it when i try to save as a windows media video file, it cant render save as that type of file? it says " there is no template avaliable for this format. The selcted media may not support it. Try again? " i saved as a quciktime video after that. after saving successfully, i tried playing my complied video, the whole video was only the first 3 seconds, which i saved as a few min video actually. what do i do?? thanks Last edited by knpan; 27th May 2007 at 03:21 PM. |
