Default LTM (screw) vs M mount

Can anyone tell me the differences between the two especially their advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks

Default Re: LTM (screw) vs M mount

LTM is screw mount. The lens mount is actually screw threaded. That means you screw the lens into the camera like it was a giant screw. Early Leicas, and some Bessas use this mount. Advantage of this is that you can get a L to M adaptor to make it into an M mount.

M mount is a bayonet mount that was launched with the M3. M mount lenses have the ability to bring out the correct set of framelines in the viewfinder.
