    Default how to shoot sunny beaches?

    just got back from koh samui, my shots were mostly lacking in contrast. most were taken under harsh sunlight. overexposure? i didnt know pbase started charging, so can any1 recommend a gd host site?

    try to use a cp or nd filter.

    Not sure what you mean, any examples?

    For beach shots, it might be good to meter the sand and use fill flash for the subjects to get a good overall exposure.

    Use a CP and/or lens hood to cut down glare.

    Overexposed? Possibly u metered a dark area.

    I think your problems arised mainly due to the timing you were shooting - Harsh lighting which results to high exposure contrast.

    Maybe, you try to upload the pics and we see what the problems were.

    i understand the concepts of metering and exposure... but what determines contrast? what exactly does harsh sunlight do? what's a cp or nd filter?

    i wana show my pic, but i duno how to upload. any sites to recommend?
