Coolpix 4500 firmware version 1.2 upgrade
The following issue has been corrected in this firmware upgrade. When shooting using the MC-EU1 remote cord at an image-quality setting of HI (no compression, TIFF) images appear as if they are overlapping or sliced. http://www.nikon-euro.com/nikoneuro2...wnload_131.htm Coolpix 5700 firmware version 1.1 upgrade http://www.nikon-euro.com/nikoneuro2...wnload_132.htm

Just updated my Firmware from 1.0 to 1.1
Nikon is serious when they say FRESH 2CR5 or EN-L1 when upgrading the firmware. Takes a while to update the firmware. So folks who're unsure of upgrading or not, can go ahead I've tested on my camera. It's now v1.1 |

espn, does the new firmware (ver 1.1 for CP5700) solve the lowlight focusing issue for the CP5700 camera?
I've checked Singapore Nikon's website but the new firmware 1.1 for CP5700 has not been announced...wonder why Have U tried all the features for the new firmware? Does it create other problem(s)? |

I've yet to try it, only managed to update it last night after reaching home from school
![]() Will try to play with it tonight ![]() SG Nikon has not released any updates to the firmware as far as I know, but all Cameras are manufactured in Jap so I presume it's safe to use the firmware from europe. |

Is the update process very long?
I'll be going for a holiday soon and I can't imagine my CP5700 shitting out on me now should the upgrade process fails...especially since I'll be relying heavily on the camera alot during the holiday. It contributed to over 2k+ photos cum video clips during my last holiday stint. |

Slightly faster, but I realise when u go into menus or do some selections, there's some beep right? Can turn it off? Think the firmware resetted my settings
![]() The process is about 10-30 secs, prepare a FRESH new battery when doing it, or if kiasu, use the batterypack with 6 fresh 2100s ![]() Once done, reboot the camera. and remember to format the CF card. ![]() |

Successfully upgraded my CP5700's firmware to v1.1 yesterday evening! It's a really scary experience cos if the upgrade fails, I've got to bring it down to Nikon Service Centre...
Anyway, am toying with the changes in the upgrade. As what I've read from some of the forum postings under DPREVIEW, I do notice that the low light focusing (or NON focusing to be exact) problem that I experienced before with the camera has INDEED been substantially resolved by the new firmware, although Nikon didn't explicitely state that in the new version upgrade notes. I've tried the focusing on some situations that I'm very sure wouldn't be successful in the past, and guess what, the camera locked its focuses on all the tries! Amazing. And I believe most Nikon users would agree that when this gem successfully locks it focus on a target, the results are usually great...whoa! I'll continue to stress-test the my "newly refurbished" CP5700 later today. I've read that a user was able to successfully focus on a palm charging led lamp in a dark room...can't imagine that! But I'll like to find out myself. Word of caution to those who plans to upgrade their firmware though...fully charge you battery before attempting the upgrade. I took an extra step, I've switched the autopower off feature form the default 30s to the max (I think its 30 min)...in case the camera decides to shut itself down during the upgrade, which we don't want cos that'll screw up the upgrade and is a sure indicator for a trip down to the service centre... |
