Also, if you want good pictures, a tripod is a MUST.
Please note, tripod is not a mere 'accessory'. It is as important as the camera itself, if not more. It is not merely complementary. It is a very impt part of every photographers equipment.
well maybe i must train my self to set up a tripod fast

For you info. 7/8 years ago , minolta already got Digital SLR camera.

Yes, Minolta invented AF. In fact, if I am not wrong, Minolta tried to sue some other company for that.

    I don't believe you guys!
    Sure:

    Minolta mades photocopiers,
    Canon mades printers,
    Nikon mades spectacles lens,
    and...
    Honda mades BICYCLES,
    BMW mades AEROPLANES...

    So WHAT???
Does it matters who mades whats? I'm more interested in the kind of pix ppl can produce with what they have now...
So what if you have a Nikon or a Canon or a Minolta? A guy with a yashica FX-3 might take better pix!

The thing is that the guy with the FX-3 will takes time to study his pix, eg: composition, lighting....etc,etc..

If you are here to claim the tittle of the best camera manfucture, I think you have already lost the passion for taking pixs...

Think ppl, what made you buy your first camera? Remember the joy when a few of your friends go to the zoo together....

Now compare with the quality of the pix you now produce... if you said that my pix is now better because I have got a better len or camera body... did the composition of your pix improve? Did you control the lighting better than the last time?

...and to set the record straight....

Honeywell sued Minolta for copying the Honeycomb pattern used in their autofocus systems... used in their thousands' series...

Let me tell you a little story.

A long time ago, an amateur photographer was invited to dinner with friends and took along a few pictures to show the hostes. She looked at the photos and said, "These are very good! You must have a good camera." He didn't make any comment, but, as he was leaving to go home, he said "That was a really delicious meal! You must have some very good pots."

It's not the camera that makes the photograph; it's not the pot that makes great food.

Thanx ckiang! Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that kid's Brain!

    Correction: It's idea, not ideal!

It's the 3" behind the camera that takes the photo, not the 3" infront!

If you are the one who pressed the buttom to take the pix, WHY should I be against the camera????

They do, check out some spectacle shops. Wonder if they are ED glass. No AFS needed, coz our eyes are probably faster than AFS and USM liao.
