Sonystyle.com.sg priced the 256Mb @ $300, 512Mb @ $600 and 1GB @ $1200 respectively!!!!
Saw the 256Mb on sale at the Sony store in Suntec today, going for $300 too. Can't wait for Lexar and Sandisk to release their MS Pro and hope it is cheaper. my 717 is craving for more memory!!! |

Gotta ask AP/MS and CP for their quotes instead. Apparently, these are the cheapest places...

256 for 300 bucks...
i might as well carry 2x128 as it would only cost about 220.

Just read news that that Lexar is also going to produce the Memory Stick Pro together with Sony and Sandisk.
It's seems that Lexar is going to inculde it's own propertory controller in their MS Pro.
Looks like Lexar's MS Pro may have an edge over SONY's and Sandisk's MS Pro. Hopefully the F717 benefit from this proprietary controller technology. I will be waiting for Lexar's MS Pro instead of SONY or Sandisk. |

a) The 2x128 will require you to eject the MS, toggle the selector switch to switch to the 2nd bank to use the other 128Mb, the MS Pro does not. b) The MS Pro is 8 times faster than the orinigal MS, and will be useful when shooting at max quality on a 5MP camera like the F717, resulting in less time saving the image, especially in TIFF. |

You should be able to get a 256 stick from AP at $200+, don't think it is above $250. Look for Anthony and reference Clubsnap/Simon or Simone.

Currently only 2 SONY Cameras, the F717 and F77 can support the MS Pro natively. Some other models are able to support after a firmware upgrade. |

According to Sony Vaio-helpdesk F77 supports Memory Stick Pro but at normal Memory Stick read/write speed.
![]() Anyone who has Memory Stick Pro cares to post is there any speed improvement? |

Can inquire if the shop allow you to test the difference before buying.
anyway, will still get a 256Mb MS Pro over 2 128Mb MS because don't feel like opening the battery compartment to change MS in the heat of the shooting. 48 Shots at max resolution on the 128Mb is darn too little. |
