I got one in a similar pose as your first one. Any idea what it is?

When I was shooting it, I couldn't figure out which was the head/abdomen at all!!! Till after I came back & scrutinized it in greater detail, then realized the head was 'hidden' by the fore legs.

Looks like a Red tent spider, or Cyrtophora unicolor.
