Default MAHA Charger C801D

I bought this charger last Dec and used it a twice only. Used it to charge 8x 2700mAh Powerex batteries... then when I tried using it last week to cover my sis' wedding, it failed to charge my batteries properly...

I was charging 2100, 2300 & 2500 mAh GP & Konnoc batteries... the LCD panel said "DONE" but when I put the batteries into my 5600HS(D) and test fired the flash, the flash fired once and then the batteries died or the charging of the flash started up but it never charged the flash fully so that the red flash LED came on...

I had tried to charge those batteries 3 times... then also did a "Condition" charge... but the batteries failed to hold the current. This was for 16 batteries (2x 2100 Gp, 2x 2300 GP, 4x2500 GP, 4x2300 GP, 4x2500 Konnoc). In fact for some of those batteries, the MAHA charger gave a blinking symbol to indicate the batteries were spoilt...

When I tried to charge these 16 batteries using a GP Rapid2 charger, they all charged fine.

To cut a long story short, I got the charger unit replaced one to one... but when I tried charging my 4x900mAh Konnoc AAA batteries, the batteries cannot be charged... the charger tells me that the AAA batteries are completely empty and the icon in the LCD panel did not blink. I called EastGear and they told me that the batteries are likely to be spoilt... but these Konnoc AAA batteries have never been used before... they came free with the MAHA charger and I had no use for them... now I charged them as I wanted to use them in a torch whose regular batteries had just died...

Any bros here who use this charger have any comments or advice? I paid $129 for this charger on recommendation on many bros here who said it was a good charger... I was attracted by the conditioning feature and also the ability to charge 8 batteries in 1hr... I wonder if what I described is a common problem?

Any comments? Thanks!

Well I got it changed... and now they ask me to bring my batteries down... I'll just bring along my 24 AAs and 4 AAAs and let them test all...

get a refund and mod your own sealed lead acid batt pack like i did, no more headaches with li-ons or other rechargeables, plus its a lot cheaper, does not require batt change for up to 1k shots, charges fully in about an hour, stays cool, less weight in your hands...

fair enough...as it is unlike to have the replacement set spoilt as well, so better let them test your batteries.
