I wonder who gambled on low fuel - Massa or Alonso.
I just have a feeling that it was Alonso, in order to be on P1 in front of his home crowd. Until Massa came along and drove a blinder to displace him.

Will be fun to watch how Kimi defends his position too.

Its gonna be a cracker of a race.

    Super !!!

Same for me. I won't have subscribed if not for Formula 1. I watch football but am not a die hard fan. I won't miss a Formula 1 race for anything else.

I suspect Alonso was carrying lower fuel as he couldn't have been over a second faster than Hamilton in the first Q3 lap. My guess as to who among the top four will pit first:

    1. Alonso
    2. Massa
    3. Hamilton
    4. Raikkonen

You are right. Kimi is usually known to prefer carrying a heavier fuel load during qualifying. That gives the team and himself the choice on when to pit in terms of strategy. The way Hamilton and Kimi queued up at the end of the pitlane during the 3rd session showed that they would start the race with slightly heavier fuel loads and wanted to burn as much fuel as possible in that last session.
Will be an interesting race. I hope there are no 1st corner incidents and the drivers don't take each other out.

Less than 15 mins for the race to start.

Come on Ferrari. Make it a 1-2 finish

Drama sia.....Kimi out with a dead engine. Alonso screwed his race. Serve him right! I start to loose respect for him after he is so afraid of a night race. Bernie brushed him off saying that he is inexperienced!

Massa got many cork ups as well, flash fire, helmet restrain come loose. Someone's wheel nut fell off! And worst of all, the ulitmate insult; the defending constructors' champion is scraping with a Super Aguri! Honda is still in a rut.

ha ha ha. plenty of drama out there. the fire on massa's car gave me a fright. for a second, i thought race over for Ferrari.
kimi is jinxed, his bad luck continues
bmw was doing well until that wheel nut problem came up.
alonso must be raging within himself.
hamilton is cool as ever. looks like we've got a future star in the making.
good to see schumi on the pitwall. 2nd career perhaps ? i am sure he won't be too far away from F1 for long.

Balance 18 laps, Massa leading Lewis and then Alonso.

Schumi is supposed to continue working at Ferrari but I think he have not commit himself yet. As to what role, I dunno.

Sato got infront of Fisi! If it ends this way, Flavio can dig an hole in the ground and bury his face there!

I think Alex Yooung is quite a good commentator. He got inside knowledge and workings of a F1 car. A bit raw but surely can get better.

Massa wins~! Lewis is 2nd and he will lead the drivers' table.

Flavio sure will bury himself after this.
And you are right. Alex Yoong seems to be good. Enjoyed his comments.

    Good win for Massa.

    Bloody Star Sports
I think they buy LIVE airtime only till the end of the race.
Didn't even show the cars coming into the pit.

They shouldn't be showing that LIVE thingy if its not LIVE.

Their coverage these days are really crap and its not that they've no experience. They have been good all along right up to 2005. Last season was bad and this, really crap!

Back in 05, the pre and post show was an hour long each with interviews and comments from commentators. Can enjoy more than 3 hrs of F1 stuff. Last season, checked flag cut to 1/2 hr and now, its not worth mentioning! Its ads and ads and more ads. Its not that i mind but its really too much.

I agree about the coverage, it's really, really inept. Adding insult to injury, the multiple, unimaginative ads for ING, BMW and Johnny Walker, silly graphics that take up screen real estate for not much value add ... and cap it off with the 2 robotic local commentators. Maybe next time I'll watch it with the sound off

However, I also feel that Alex Yoong's commentary was good, the other commentator kept making mistakes (eg. Alonso gaining time on Hamilton after the 2nd pit stop was interpreted as losing time, etc).

I do miss Murray Walker and Jackie Stewart ...
