? you mean, in the sky.. it was overcast, so no point keeping the clouds, else can underexpose and dodge the details of the rest out

no, i do not have a ring for this lens (62mm thread size), so had to shoot naked.

Just around S$150 for a new one? Definitely a good price. Any other lenses going for a good price in UK?

    Anyway, picture looks good too.

I think the bokeh of the DA*16-50 is only so-so.... not creamy enough.

I would say, that there's no right or wrong answer to eejal's question.
    It's a matter of interpretation.

In this scenario, most people would focus on the dog and owner at the back.
But focusing in the foreground can be interesting too, especially if there's a subject in the foreground that stands out, like a ball or a frisbee, etc...

If in doubt and if possible, take both and decide which one you like better.
And remember the choice and scenario for future references.

I like the lighting in that shot though... Very nicely exposed.

Just a few test shots from my newly acquired K10D + MF 50mm f1.7. Trying to get the hang of manual focus...

Is the green tinge ghosting? It appears everytime there's a light fixture in the frame.

i focused on the lit grass first, then switched to manual focusing, and used a moderately high f/stop. bump up iso to make sure no motion blur. was actually shooting the trees, then saw people coming, tried cyclists didn't work so was lucky the dog and master came along.

    exif data: f/13, 1/125 sec, iso 400..

Does look like ghosting to me.
It's the exact inverse of the ceiling lights.
