    It's been a while since I used the Vivitar S1 105mm, kinda make my hands shaky after 2hrs^^; The ending 1/2 hr, I can hardly keep my hand steady enough for sharp shot^^; I'm re-discovering the bokeh of this lens^^

    Thx.^^ That was a lucky shot, I was focusing and suddenly the head turns and I quickly snap^^;

    These breed of butts u can get really close. It's not like I need 1:1 macro, so I have abt 10+cm working distance^^

    U are too kind. I'm learning to bring out the bokeh of this lens, it's quite a challenge as it's kinda cloudy today. >.<

    From ur avatar, are u into butts? If you are skip the Vivitar and get something longer like Sigma 180mm or A* 200mm.

    Thx. Actually close-up in some sense are harder than the reverse 28mm.^^; Not as easy to get good bokeh, enough lighting and DOF. Why?

    Bokeh: Cause the leafs below are mostly spread out in most plant. So getting a smooth color bokeh is harder^^; For reverse due to the magnification, most of the time the side leaf or petal is enough to give nice bokeh.

    Lighting: Cause normal close up involves a bigger area. When u flash more shadows are being casted here and there. Also flash won't be able to cover evenly for background. Reverse are resticted to much smaller area and the lens are way shorter, so even on-board flash is enough for f16-f22.

    DOF: Cause to get good DOF, u sacrificed lighting and use higher ISO. Reverse u can stay within ISO400 yet use f22.

    Hope this will be helpful^^

    Edit: Don't be "scare" by my macros. The result I got now is with abt 2 yrs of trial and error. My "shifus" are the many wonderful macro shots done by real macro masters^^

    These are my 1st insect macros using S9500 with +4 Hoya
