Default Low Light Shots

Am using a Lumix FZ50 and want to take studio shots at low light... i know noise is really high on high ISO... is there any suggestion to making it work without so much noise? my subject will be a person so i dont want her to stay poise for quite long... thanks

google up "slow sync"... and test it out yourself, try to find the sweet spot for yourself.

I attended an indoor studio course before, and one of my classmates was using FZ-50.

I think the biggest challenge using FZ-50 is that FZ-50's exposure setting is difficult to catch up with the studio light setting requirements.

You may not get what you think you are going to get.

Anyway, just go and try out your luck, and if you manage to get it right, do share with all of us here.

Hi JimDavis,

Was it me during the one organized by tkp77?
I was using FZ20. I could not see anything in the EVF or LCD in manual setting.
It was really very dark. I switched to Auto mode temporarily so that I can see,
but I lost my composition and the right moment when I switched back.
This is the method we use with tripod for the night scene but not for indoor studio shoot.
If someone manage to find the solution, please share with us.

Hi ZinY,

Your FZ-20 was only one of the incidents, while I had another classmate during my course in SAFRA using FZ-50, he just couldn't get it right, ended up bought a dSLR for that course.

You are giving me a hint, right?
Still don't get it.

What JD's mentioned also happened to me when I took my Basic. Went to Sentosa for night shoot with the rest of the course mates. I was using FZ20 and all I could see from the camera was two dots - at the left and right side . They belongs to the lampposts that were the nearest to us
