I can't decide what to get between these two. Price wise about the same. SR400AW seems slightly bigger. What is your say?

If design matters, get the Crumpler. Also, Crumpler's padding is better than lowepro.

I have the SR and am gonna sell it soon.
What I like: Roomy Lots of compartments for everything 6 sliplock attachment loops (I haven't even used up 2 of them) Metal D-rings Rain Cover Quick Access Zip Splash-proof canvas What I dislike: Boxy; for a stealth bag, it sure screams "CAMERA BAG HERE. STEAL ME!" Doesn't hug the hip well Padding less than desirable, compared to Crumpler Partitions are horribly hard to configure at first (because there's velcro EVERYWHERE) On the whole, it just looks ugly. On hindsight, I'd go for the crumpler. |

Crumpler la.
I'm usin the 7mil now. Reason coz its the most inconspicuous cam bag ard so most pple on the street wont know there's something exp inside. Not really applicable to our safe city but it wont attract unwanted attention when you're overseas. ![]() |

My stealth bag of choice is still Domke's J-series. |

Alternatively, they see crumpler and think what a pain to steal with all the strong belt and thick padding.
My only draw back is that body + 70-200 can't be fitted well inside ![]() |

Get the crumpler. The padding is much better than the SR. It can fit body with attached 70-200 (hood reversed) horizontally. You have to put other accessories below the body and 70-200(they might not be easily accessible but depends on how you configure). It comes with more than enough dividers.
p.s. "It" means crumpler. Last edited by mtunlinn; 12th May 2007 at 09:32 PM. |

Crumpler is a "branded" bag brand. Domke bags don't even look like they have a brand on them til you look carefully. |

Be more careful and it doesn't matter what bag you're using, really.
I mean, if you're so worried use plastic bag lor.. Then everyone can see the camera anyways and.. Voila, plastic bag easy to steal! |

You don't have to worry so much about thieves. Because your thieves that have access to a fence for stolen camera gear are often more familiar with the bags and designs than you.
I own both the SR400 and 7mil home. And... I still like the SR more. More compartments and better suited for travelling. And anyway, they don't target you when you are just carrying a bag. They will often wait till your camera is actually out of your bag before hitting.
