Got to use an F75 over the weekend.

I was planning on getting one as a second camera/backup for my F80.

The vertical shutter release was nice on the battery pack but not sure how much better the 25 segment metering is on the F75 compared to the 10 segment on the F80.

It is smaller and wieghs less than the F80, so don't know how it will feel/handle with a big lens. I only used it with a Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8D and AF 20mm f/2.8D lenses

F75 131 x 92.5 x 65mm - 380gr
F80 141.5 x 98.5 x 71mm - 515gr

F75D 131 x 92.5 x 67.5mm - 385gr
F80D 141.5 x 98.5 71.5mm - 520gr

A few things I don't like with the F75

- No manual ISO setting
- top shtter speed of only 1/2000
- flash sync even slower than F80
- limitations on setting and using of Centre weighted and Spot metering

Also build quality is much better on the F80 compared to the F75

After using it even for such a short time I will be looking at another F80 or a second hand F100

I think that with the price of the F75 around the same as the F65, this may be a replacement for the F65.

Hi mysteriousjimmy, does this F75 has leader-out option
when doing a mid roll rewind? thanks.

Hi, can u elaborate on the "no manual ISO setting"?
Does it mean that what ISO film you get, is what ISO you use already?

Sorry, Newbie @ Progress...Hope you don't mind.

yes, the ISO setting follows the DX code in film, you
can't override the setting. So ... no push-pull.

That I didn't check

I can't remember if it left the leader out when it finished a roll with the automatic rewind. Plus from looking at the brochure you only have automatic rewind when you finish a roll. With the F80 you can disable auto rewind.

Will check with my mate (his F75) tomoro as he put the rolls in for processing.

I'm thinking of an entry level nikon SLR.
Probably F75 and F80.
Still considering though.

The F75 looks good to me cause it comes with a lense for me to play with.

What's the relative cost of a new F75/80 and a market price for a 2nd hand?

If I recall correctly, it was SGD799 on the last IT Show for F75
(with kit lens).

that sounds about right as the RRP in Australia for the F75 with AF 28-100mmf/3.5-5.6G lens is AUD$929. Prices in Singapore are cheaper than Australia even with the equal exchange rate.

I think the price here without a lense is ard AUD$670

I dun think there is a F75 2nd hand so soon.. Your best bet would be grey market f75.

I feel the F75 is smaller then F65 and F80. Guys with nig hand might find it uncomfortable..

The design is a bit different from nikon body.. Look a bit like another brand.

I think you can't go wrong with either of it or even a F65.

Might be waiting a while for a second hand F75, it has only just been released.

Unless someone buys one and they are not happy with it.

Reading on SLR stuff?

If u are interested in a model and reading abt it.. It will be much easier to read and hands-on with the camera.

May not get it so soon cause I'm going into NS.

Using my A40 as of now though.

Haven't found much user reviews on the F75 online.

Yup, I was considering it too as a matter of fact. But after covering an event with the F100, I'm beginning to have second thoughts...
