It depends on what part of the world you're in...America is getting it later than other countries (the US has to sell out of the E-500 first), and Amazon is a North American company.

I read on the DPreview forums that the E-510 will be available as early as mid-may.

Evil...

Wonder how many E500 owners out there will be offloading their E500 to upgrade to the E510.

I myself am itching for the E510 for its IS and good ISO performance...

Anyone out there looking for a mint condition E500 body pls PM me!

I definitely want the IS and the good ISO, but I guess I'll stick with my E-500.

The E500 is a fantastic camera, no doubt about it.

It's just me - I'm a sucker for tech upgrades.

For me I love the feel of them...they don't feel like oversized, humped back cameras which most dSLRs have become (the reason why I bought the E-300).

For me the main draw would be the better performance at the higher ISO settings, though with the four thirds system I am not sure how much improvement we can expect to see. The extra 2 megapixel count really does not equate to that much more than a marketing number fo me.

Of course the in camera stabilisation counts for something as well but i don't know whether it is 'worth' the price.

Plus, based on Amazon's price as a guide, that is basically $1.5k as a guide for the kit. Assuming they will sell the body by itself, we might hope for $1,349 or $1,299 here in local Singapore $. However, the current price of the e-500 at about $600-$700 means a hefty top up for me.

Ideally, I'd love to wait till the E-520 is released or even E-530, with ideally at least 16 megapixel output, and high ISO performance to at least match the current equivalent of the Nikons D70 and more ideally the Canons 30D. A bigger viewfinder too.

Perhaps this may come in the form of the replacement for the E-1.

Anyway, like many of you, I'll be itching for a while.

Those are SRP prices, street price should be much less. Going by US prices, the E-510 with kit lens should be available for around S$1.3k considering the E-410 kit is $1,150.

LOL - I'm guessing that pretty soon even the small consumer cameras will be bragging about their high megapix count soon.

It won't be long in real terms. just long when you are waiting.....

SGD $1,299 is the RRP.

So Courts, Harvey Norman, Best Denki etc. will be selling it at that price.

The regular photo guys will sell it at SGD $1,100+.

Seems like it's gonna be available later this month in Australia-

Single lens kit:

Twin lens kit:
