Wah, this sounds like a foreigner asking 'what is good to eat at a hawker centre'.

Maybe you can start by giving us some indication of your budget, what type of photography you like to do (macro or wide-angle), any current lenses/system that you own or are familiar with. This will really help.

I guess if you are asking which type of cam and housing to get in terms of the pro and con of eg DSLR vs PnS. Orginal housing vs orginal housing. As I do not have any underwater DSLR, cannot comment with the setup.

As for PnS, I currently uses Oly C-7070 with oly housing and Sea & Sea YS-90 Strobe (got it cheap from my friend) via a fiber optic slave sync cable (so only manual flash control). If you are only looking at just PnS with housing, then you might wanna get one that have a decent macro capability (ie can take close up shots) as you will find that u/w macro shots will make up most of your underwater shots with a simple PnS as the built in flash might not have caoverage for a good wide angle shots.

If you are getting a PnS with 3rd party housing like ikelite, got to do some research on which proivide TTL as some of the setup only allows for manual flash control which can be a challenge to get the right exposure underwater.

Best set up is the camera and housing that you can own and use. Your setup is useless to me coz I don't have it :P

Any reasons why you choose the 3 setups?

Man... those are Semi-pro to Professional already. It depends whether the thread starter is ready to buy a DSLR for u/w photography. If the cost of the DSLR doesn't kill you, the u/w housing & strobes will!

ok, here's a question... (I am a sea & sea fanatic).... would you buy a housing for a D2X in another brand (hence re-buying all the ports and accessories) or buy a D200 and then get a Sea & Sea housing...

If you already started with Sea&sea, its cheaper to stick with it,

Its like getting a Nikon with Lotts of lens then deciding to switch system will be really expensive choice.

But Sea&Sea no D2X... Hence the frustration leh...

BTW, I shoot with film still so my current housings, ports, strobe attachments are all interchangable...
