dear admins,
please take this with an open and objective heart. i dun understand why the moderator muz close the thread on Why Canon Why in the nikon section. he stated that it is never ending, but what is wrong with that? it is a healthy debate and frankly i enjoy reading ppls opinions on their platform. anyway, a lot of issues in life are never ending as well, dun tell me you can simply brush it aside or juz push it out of sight? there were a couple of good points pointed out in the thread, like a link a poster gave to a review page on nikon vs. canon. i read thru it and found it useful, the thread serves a purpose and it could serve so much more until u guys closed it. this feels very Peoples A Party-ish. since it wasnt offensive or rubbish i really dun understand why it was closed. no offence i hope. ![]() Last edited by Thirun Sammy; 7th May 2007 at 05:03 PM. |

What is the objective of the thread? What are you trying to achieve out of this thread? What is the take away the members should have from this thread? Any learning points? If so what are they? etc
If you can convince me as to why this thread should be open, I am all ears. If not the decision is final. |

I am all for listening to objections but do put it in a nice way. You make it sound as if its a matter of life and death or I am infringing your rights. I hope you to remember something, posting in this forum is a privilege and not a right. Having said above, I welcome all constructive feedbacks. If you want to challenge a mod decision, put it across nicely. |

i found this link very useful in particular.
http://diglloyd.com/diglloyd/free/Go...kon/index.html futhermore, there were alot of opinions mentioned bout equipment selection and really a lor more, of cuz there were comments that werent constructive. but if u open a forum dun u think non constructive comments are part and parcel of the business. i think that just because u feel that it is pointless doesnt mean others feel its pointless. furthremore, i dun feel the thread is offensive in any way. this matter is really not juz bout this thread but a principle in whole. anyway, u dun have to reopen it. the problem will still persist even if you do. thanks for taking the time to reply. |

People who wish to find out the pros and cons between different systems can easily do it themselves. This forum has lots of people who are willing to help you to identify the good and bads of each system. These type of threads usually lead to bashing of each system in a very uncivilized manner. And some of these comments can be so badly worded such that it contains very biased comments and to a certain degree false information. Do you know how many calls we get from vendors in the past about members posting untrue facts? I personally get called into call conference calls over several incidents that happened in the past. We (admins and mods) know non constructive comments are part and parcel of the business for forum management. But do you also know that we have a choice to moderate these comments since we are the owners of this forum? There are always things that you should understand. We advocate non confrontational discussions and comments that anyone is willing share. Last but not least, if you feel the information is useful, feel free to state it in a nice way o start another thread containing only the useful information. Its not as if we deleted the whole thread. Feel free to bookmark the URL in your PC and share it with any CS member who is looking for such information. |
