Sample Images from 14-42mm (Kit Lens)

ISO 100 sample - taken at 18mm f5.6

ISO 1600 sample - taken at 42mm f5.6

Ah, hang on for portrait samples... need to find a willing model!

More Sample Images

Brought the 410 to the Zoo on Sunday - bad day though, it was NTUC May Day Carnival and the zoo was F U L L!
Still managed a few decent shots; could be better I think!

All images were processed with the noise filter on.

ISO 400 - 200mm - f3.5 - 1/320s (after all this time, still prefer her - such a cutie *meow*)

ISO 400 - 200mm - f3.5 - 1/1250s (quite a pretty gal, for a warthog)

ISO 800 - 200mm - f3.5 - 1/60 (tame lil' bugger, will let you pet and stroke)

ISO 1600 - 50mm - f2.0 - 1/40 (the stuff of nightmares - actually surprised me how fearsome it looked)

ISO 800 - 50mm - f2.0 - 1/100 (not nearly as sinister as the reticulated python - but one with a purpose)

Final Note:
1. I like to shoot wide open.
2. I like to shoot the 50-200mm at 200mm.
3. For pure sharpness and contrast, nothing beats the 50mm Macro.
4. I forgot to test the kit lens - DOH!
5. I'll let the pictures speak for the 410's image quality and dynamic range.

Hi,
i'm waiting for the remaining pics... quick... BBB syndrome hitting me hard.

Request: can u post a portrait shot done at 42mm, wide open? I'd like to see the bokeh (if any at all?) no PP, or camera sharpening, just on-board PORTRAIT setting to see how colour is handled...

plse, plse plse... thanks

WileE, sorry I've haven't got down to testing portraits using the kit lens - I intended to test it on the Zoo inhabitants on Sunday.

But true to form - I forgot.

i tried the handling of the e410... not for me too small, and dunno where to put my fingers.

now have to wait for the e510 which seems to able to provide a better grip... darn, wait some more

Can you try if the E-410's built in flash leave a shadow cast of the 14-54 lens. It seems that it does that on the 11-22.

I don't think the pop-up flashes were meant for anything other than the kit lens (or shorter).

In any case I don't own the 14-54mm so..

Agree. I prefer my 1998 Mazda 626 and 2002 Citroen C3. At least I can afford the insurances and the driving costst...

Sorry for the OT I just couldn't let it go.
