Thread: Anyone here having injuries/condition that conflicts with this hobby?

Default Anyone here having injuries/condition that conflicts with this hobby?

a little more explanation on the title. are there anyone here with injuries/medical conditions etc, that in some ways affect you while carrying out yr hobby/passion/job ?

    for example,
i suffer from a PID which seriously prohibits me from carrying, using heavy equipments like massive lenses, telescopes, tripods etc. when i go out with my setup, i have to choose between my tele or WA lens. no tripods unless absolutely necessary.

other examples like being partially colour blind to some colours, knee injuries prohibiting kneeling, low angle shots etc.

How do u cope with such injuries/problems other than not shooting entirely?
How do u feel when u realise it's not money/technical limitations but your physical limitations?

My left wrist is a problem for me when shooting when heavy setup. If I stress until it start aching, it will give me pain for few days.

I will try as much as possible to use left hand to carry whenever possible.

My right wrist was injured in 2 accidents and is weaker than what I previously was.
I can't hold a simple body+lens+flash (~3kg) to my eye for long without pain kicking in. I need my left hand to support the entire weight. The problem comes when I want to zoom or manual focus.

I have CMP on my right knee and I have difficulty squatting down to take low shots and stand up after that. Will struggle a bit and the pain may last a couple of days.

H'mmm, perhaps the five of you would do yourself good by seeking
medical help. Sometimes you may have to seek alternatives like
getting attention from qualified Chinese Physicians.

I can't sleep. So I work in the home studio or in front of computer until 3 or 4 am everyday.

I miss all the best sunrise photos.

I had a bad accident which got my left knee cap cracked and its ligament torn. I was told that i cannot walk for long periods or carry heavy stuff. I dont care, my passion for nature photography overcomes this and infact no one ever notice that I had any injuries before unless I show them the scar on my knee. I still carry a 30Kg back and chion the jungles to shoot birds. If that is not enough, I also go to low level to shoot macros.
