Hmmm, Song brother doesn't have a sound reputation. You might want to wait a while b4 purchasing D100. Prices might drop in April. Prices in Canada has already drop.

I bought a Sony VCD player from them in 1999, found their service to be good, but after I bought it from them I heard a lot of bad remarks not only in HWZ but from other people's mouth also when it comes to electronics.

I think you might be better off getting it from other shops like AP/CP, and since CS has such a big network u might get some nifty discounts or bargains.

Suggestion: Go during SEED, get CS folks to help you out... I'm SURE they're more then willing to help you purchase ur camera.

I've noticed people like to see people splurge/spend money .

there was a complain about them sometime back.. (or rather a string)
read the ratings section at HWZ.

but seriously...
if i want to spend money on such expensive equipment, i would go to a shop with a good track record.

Complains on Song Bros includes passing rude remarks, marking up the price to ridiculous level (if u are blur), lying about missing accessories. Some complain that they sell a product cheaper than other shop, but what they do is to take out accessories like CF card or cam pouch from the box. They then sell it back to you. In the end you pay more then getting it from another shop.

If anyone is to buy from them, just need to make sure you know what accesories are supposed to be in the box, and confirm your final prices ie whether it includes gst, and lastly it comes with a warranty card.

.

Clubsnap sent you?
That means purchase on behalf on clubsnap?

Btw, will they quote at least reasonable price if doing so? Coz i am so tired of being quoted ridiculous prices when i show my baby face, and the typical student look.

I guess if you ever notice the number of customers in Alan Photo on a weekend, jostling and waiting to get the salesman attention or waiting for their turn to be served.

And you compare it with the "crowd" at Song Brothers, it is clear which shop has a better reputation.

(I had to wait patiently for 15-20 mins for Anthony to be done with his customer for my turn. )

A friend of mine almost bought his S45 at Song Brothers in SLS @ level 2, but was put off by the service, that he decided to buy at Alan Photo instead.

One key point to note: Always ask if the price quoted to you includes the 4% GST, a lot of shops don't include the GST when you ask them how much.

Default D100 price drop in US!

It seems not reported here nor HWZ. Prices for D100 dropped to US$1699! If the conversion rate is the same, the S$ price would be around S$2750, same as the Canon 10D maybe plus the usual stuff thrown in like CF and hardcase. I heard this price would come down in SG within a few months.

First noticed by Nikonians on DPReview, but now, you can see it on the various US sites including CNet. Check it out at B & H.
