    Ok lah, 2 reasons.

My good friend's birthdae coming up and he loves Mac but was never able to afford one.
I thought of getting one for him. He works in designing so thought it would be a great gift.

2nd reason, I always wanted one.

Sorry about that Jeanie. It seems some of us do have problems piping down.

Let me know if there's any more Mac-related queries. I'll try my best to answer

i wud also like to add a few question for Gunbucker. does it mean if i run windows on AMD, its illegal? AMD is not Intel (which u mentioned any Intel CPU). what about those who ran/run windows on emulation on their G5 & G4 or older macs (non intel hardware). legal or illegal?

where exactly do u draw the line? again, merely a discussion. anybody can feel free to chip in.
    Sighhh. You seem quite, lost.

Okay, let me enlighten as much as I can. Now, Windows as an operating system NEVER had any restrictions on what hardware it can run on. If you can make it run on a homebrewed Amiga, or even a frankensteined Commodore 64, more power to you. Nobody from the legal office will come after you for that.

Apple on the other hand, made measures to prevent running its OS on a non-Apple hardware. In short, they don't LICENSE their OS to third party hardware manufacturers. They tried it a few years back, but decided not to go that route.

So.... it's PERFECTLY LEGAL for you to homebrew, rig, hotrod a PC/Acorn/Amiga/Sparc to run Mac OS X, but unfortunately not for your favourite PC manufacturer. It is NOT LEGAL for any hardware manufacturer except Apple to ship their computers with Mac OS X. Clear?

In other words, using a Mac OS X loaded Mac Mini with an ACER monitor, and a LOGITECH mouse is perfectly fine. Those folks at Apple center show casing that "openly", thank the Gods, have nothing to fear.

I have long since been a user of multibootable OSes, and welcome this. Using VirtualPC with my G4 macs, and now Vista with Bootcamp.

BTW, you should know that it is Microsoft that requires you the consumer to use ONLY Vista Ultimate edition should you want to run it under virtualization with Parallels.

And here goes the smiley friendly discussion icon

    Hope this helps your understanding.

nevermind, it works just as well for other apps. just open up a bunch of documents, applications etc.

try it and be truly WOW-ed.

it was pretty mind-blowing when i first tried it, and now it's an essential part of my digital imaging workflow.
