Heya Pingo, I just played with curves, dodging and burning tools only. I haven't had the time to try out the Lucis Art plug-in somehow. Cheers mate!

    Thanks for the tips Andy!

Image would have been improved with some skin retouching prior to the other manipulations but it was just a test pic and I had to rush off to the loo

Refined the technique a little and it's possible to alter the "cartoon" (for lack of a better word) feel if required. Still need to refine the workflow, like how burning and dodging wasn't done properly but I can't go back to fix it. Will try harder next time. =P

i canot help but to reply this post ....

Aesthetic vs. Accuracy.... the ever green question. its the question however, only challenged by the commercial mules....

one does not need to know rocket science to take good photos. Art is not define by PS extensiveness... my lomo will create the WOW factor any day.

how one artist hold his own integrity to his own work is like how one would protect his own child... would you allow someone else to send your kid to plastic surgery? worse... if to make your children look like them

With regards to Dave Hill photos….

Unseen’s post in here about dave hill having DI in mind during the shoot. I will have to second his comments. After spending some time on the photos. I realize that he uses a lot of lightings and cutters. To achieve the desired effects and some of the subjects are taken separately( I guess on this one) a lot of work is done on the smoldering the outlines with shadows… that I have no idea how he does it …. But it would be interesting to find out.

I will hope to post my trial on this soon

    In my humble opinion

yup, its quite tedious. i edit mainly on CS3. high pass layers, heavy unsharp mask, dodge and burn details. i also saturated the colors.

Guys... guess u are not looking @ the Dave pics care fully....

He basically took many shoots on the same final pic...

    1) first back ground

    2) let say 4 people in the subject.... then take 1 person @ a time with all the proper lightings to each person

    3) so it sum up to 5 pics n process into 1 pic

thats all .... dun be fool by thinking its a a pic taken alone n process that final effect!
