Wahhhh 7-14mm... I do think the 11-22mm is good enough, but if you can afford the 7-14mm, what's stopping you?

so i assumed that you have both and you think that 11-22 should be good enough right?
Roger that Sir! thanks for the advice. i am saving it for the p-1... if it meets my expectation. btw, where is the wireless flash solution that they were promising..... the wait is killing me. |

hi NMSS_2, still considering 7-14mm ??..hahhaa
yes..11-22 is not really the wide. before I made the final decision.. i had a chance to shot with 7-14mm. At 7mm it is quite distorted..half of the fish eye effect. I end up with 11-22mm and 8mm fisheye. Still cheaper than a 7-14mm. |

Imagine that, new pro body, new flash system, new SWD lenses.... Bank managers across the world are gonna cry... except those who shoot Oly.

Yo Michael, you must be having great fun with the travels.
i have hesitated with 8mm as i might not like the specialized use of it. severely limiting the "ROI" on this lens. ![]() |

The P-1 was quoted to be released "in the summer of 2007".

The 7-14 is not an easy lens to use. I will rather use the Fisheye anyday... also, the 11-22 is a really great lens for holidays. And like you said, stitching programs will solve the problem.

I just came back from beautiful Denmark. I only brought along my 14-54mm (and 50mm which I hardly have time to swapped). It is light and versatile (because of its zoom) At times, I wished I had a wider lens especially inside those beautiful castles and palaces. On the whole, the 14-54mm is very dependable where achieving quality images is concerned. It did a pretty good job. (especially no flash allowed inside these attraction).
If I had brought a different lens along, I probably would not be able to change the lens coz the group moves quickly. Even changing the settings (for interior where light is insufficient) can be a hassle. There is often no time to plan, just point and shoot. See this link for some the pics. (more on the way). Many of the pictures were taken from moving bus but turned up pretty decent. BTW, I am using my E-300. http://getsurin.multiply.com/photos/album/20 Last edited by serene; 2nd May 2007 at 01:39 AM. |
