    hi there ppl...a very happy holidays to all...
    got a question here....
    as the title suggested, is it ok if we take some pics by the sidelines or the gallery seats opposite the grandstand...(neighbourhood stadiums)
    anybody have done this before?
    just wanna take some sport pics here...

    possible. i've seen people with 300mm 2.8 lenses in the stands

    300mm enough?

    I often see 500mm photog next to the field.

    yes.. you are allowed to..

    i've shot a couple of times before at queenstown stadium from the seats opposite the grandstand using my 70 - 200

    nope.. all were handheld

    i guess you could use a tripod cuz the few times i was there, there was quite a lot of space at the stands opposite the grandstand, so you won't be obstructing anybody.. but i think a monopod would be more useful for maneuverability
